Here's a look into the pre-production of my ongoing graduation film called "Little Astronaut". It's is a quirky story about a shy and imaginative girl, yet in its depth it's about self-acceptance and reflection.  

Meet Asmee. The protagonist of my film. She’s an avid space fanatic and likes to wear her space helmet most of the time, as it makes her feel as though she really is seeing the world through the lens of an astronaut and provides her comfort. Her name “Asmee” means self-confidence which is a metaphor for her transformation as she lacks confidence in herself and her culture and battles with self-acceptance throughout the course of the story. 

Meet Yamir. He’s a supporting character in the story. Yamir is a lot like Asmee as he is also an astrophile. His name “Yamir” means moon which is a metaphorical foreshadowing of Asmee and Yamir’s friendship at the end of the story. He is also one of the kinder students in the class as he shows genuine worry for Asmee throughout the story.
